It is important for us to recognize our connection to the Earth. And in these changing times it is even more essential that we recognize this link. I don't simply mean our dependency on her for food and water. Nor simply feeling gratitude for the sustenance she provides. I mean the recognition that we are her as much as she is us. this includes every rock, every tree, every plant, every fish, every animal, every insect.
Animals are much more sensitive to the earth's changes and can sense catastrophes before they happen. This is why movies have depicted animals fleeing from forests to the bewilderment of human onlookers just before some devastation is about to occur. Indigenous cultures that live closer to nature have learned to observe animals as a way to predict weather and seasonal changes, or even as omens of bad tidings. Even in our sophisticated western culture we wait for the ground hog to observe its shadow to indicate when spring will come.
We share the magnetic field of the Earth, but have un-learned to be sensitive to its subtle energy and this is to our detriment. When Mother Earth is in crisis, we too are in crisis for we are interdependent. An earthquake creates a shift in the earth's plates and also her electromagnetic field. Though the quake may occur thousands of miles away it still has an effect on our own electromagnetic field which has a corresponding effect on our psycho-emotional state. Bear in mind that many shifts in the Earth's plates are due to solar, lunar, and distant planetary influences, such as from the planet Mercury. Mercury is the planet related to communication. Changes initiated by this planet can affect the way we communicate with each other and also internally, systemically and also consciously.
It is imperative that we keep our electromagnetic fields, the aura, the energy system in our bodies, strong to withstand sudden changes which are occurring globally more frequently. Energetic practices such as Qi Gong and Yoga strengthen the nervous system and increase the amount of life-force energy in our bodies. With a strong reservoir of qi or prana we can withstand the sudden shock of an earthquake or planetary influence.
Reestablishing and acknowledging our bond with Mother Earth is to establish a bond with all nature, its creatures, our fellow human beings and also with our Selves. For when we love the Earth and treat it with gratitude, humility and respect it mirrors equally the love and respect we have for ourselves. Since we are one, if we as a race reach a critical mass of enlightenment we have the power to heal the planet.
May we all love the Earth.
